One of our more recent blog posts discusses the many ways consumers keep you in business. Among them were scenarios involving accidental loss. Let us expand on that idea in this post. We know people lose sunglasses all the time. You might want to be a hero to customers by offering them tips for keeping track of their shades.
We have compiled a list of tips gleaned from a combination of research and our own experience. If you would like to be your customers' best friend, teach them how to avoid misplacing their designer sunglasses.
1. Find Sunglasses a Home
We begin with the concept of finding sunglasses at home. This 'home' is a place where some glasses will be stored when not in use. Examples include a shelf or caddy by the front door, a storage compartment in the car, or even on the dresser in the master bedroom.
Designating a home, and sticking with it, reduces the likelihood of running around the house looking for sunglasses before you can leave for work. Putting them in their designated spot whenever you arrive home guarantees they will always be there when you need them next.
Customers with more than one pair should designate a separate place for each one. Leave one pair in the car and the other on a shelf along with the car keys. This way, you now have access to two pairs of sunglasses on the way to work.
2. Avoid Setting Sunglasses Down
Next, encourage your customers to avoid setting their sunglasses down on tables, benches, countertops, and so forth. This is especially important in public spaces. Setting a pair of sunglasses on a restaurant table is an open invitation to leave them behind after the meal. Setting them down on the bar invites a fast-fingered thief to help himself.
This particular tip is offered in response to the fact that people easily forget their sunglasses. That helps us as a wholesale sunglasses in the sense that we can sell more units, but it's still not good for consumers.
3. Create a Sunglasses Routine
It is one thing to know that you should avoid setting your sunglasses down. It's another thing entirely to actually do it. Here's a suggestion: consumers can create a routine for their sunglasses. For example, make it a practice of immediately placing sunglasses in their case when entering a building. That case then goes in a pocket or purse.
Routines can be difficult to establish. But once established, they become habits that are equally hard to break. A consumer who can manage to create a routine using a case, a lanyard, or some other means of protecting their sunglasses will find that they lose them less frequently.
4. Invest in a Strap
Along the same lines of establishing a routine is keeping track of one's sunglasses by attaching a strap to them. The strap goes around the neck for easy carrying. How does this help?
A strap all but eliminates the temptation to set sunglasses down on a table or bench. It eliminates the need to carry a case in one's pocket or purse. The only time the sunglasses come off the neck is when they are not in use. And that's when they are put in their designated spot, guaranteeing they will still be there next time they are needed.
One of our goals as a bulk supplier of designer sunglasses is to help you succeed as a retailer. The tips offered in this post are designed to help you serve your customers better. Be a hero and pass them along.
